Show garden full of variety creates haven of peace and openness
As managers of family business Tuinen Hoornaert, the pair designed the outside space with two aims in mind: to create both a peaceful oasis for the family and also an inspiring show garden for customers.
The result: a garden that stimulates the senses and spontaneously inspires ideas while at the same time looking completely natural and simple.
Ilse Nachtergaele: "Our own show garden has evolved in various stages. It contains the different elements that we can offer to customers in an overall concept.
In a style that is neither entirely country nor ultra-modern, we used natural materials and various combinations of materials and applications (wood - clay pavers - old bluestone sinks - gravel, etc.)."
The partly covered sun terrace created using clay pavers is the perfect place to relax after an invigorating swim.
The poolhouse constructed using afrormosia has a back wall of Miniature Black Grey facing bricks, affording optimum comfort for occupants.
The swimming pool with its sleek lines has the look of a swimming pond thanks to its dark bottom and transition into a natural pond.
The covered terrace adjacent to the house provides the ideal spot for traditional barbecues.
Clay pavers on the floor, a timber-clad ceiling and a dining area, as well as a cosy seating area with pouffes and armchairs, make the space extremely inviting.
The Ancienne Belgique Pearl Grey clay pavers demonstrate the versatility of this elegant paving material that can be used in a variety of styles. The light grey shade complements both the dark grey Miniature Black Grey facing brick as well as the bluestone sinks and the Afrormosia hardwood perfectly.
"They radiate a certain nonchalance, making them the ideal choice for a wide range of garden concepts", concludes garden designer Ilse Nachtergaele.
Brickworks Vande Moortel is proud to announce that their clay pavers have been chosen for two show gardens at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show
